American Airlines has completed the rollout of its redesigned Premium Economy cabin on all transatlantic routes, featuring wider seats with 38 inches of pitch, noise-canceling headrests, and dedicated meal service with complimentary wine and spirits. The cabin is now available on flights from Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Miami to 28 European destinations.
The upgraded Premium Economy product bridges the gap between Main Cabin Extra and the carrier's Flagship Business class. Passengers receive priority boarding, two free checked bags, an amenity kit, and access to a dedicated check-in counter. Seat width has been increased to 18.5 inches, the widest in Premium Economy among U.S. carriers.
Pricing for the Premium Economy cabin typically runs 40 to 60 percent more than economy fares, positioning it as an attractive option for travelers who want enhanced comfort without business class pricing. American says the cabin has been running at 89 percent load factors since its introduction, suggesting strong demand for the mid-tier product.
