US Customs and Border Protection has launched a streamlined combined application process for Global Entry and TSA PreCheck, allowing travelers to apply for both trusted traveler programs simultaneously with a single fee and interview.
What Changed
Previously, applicants had to choose between Global Entry ($100/5 years) and TSA PreCheck ($78/5 years) as separate programs. The new combined application costs $120 for both.
- Single application form takes approximately 15 minutes to complete
- One in-person interview satisfies requirements for both programs
- Mobile enrollment using smartphone and passport scanner (no enrollment center visit needed for renewals)
- Processing time reduced from 4-6 months to 2-4 weeks through AI-assisted background screening
Enrollment Expansion
CBP has also expanded enrollment center hours and locations, adding 200 pop-up enrollment sites at major airports. The agency projects the simplified process will increase combined enrollment from 15 million to 25 million active members by 2028.
