Marriott Bonvoy has officially transitioned to a fully dynamic award pricing system that adjusts point redemption costs based on demand, season, and property popularity. The new system replaces the previous fixed award chart that assigned properties to numbered categories.

Under the new model, off-peak redemptions at many properties will cost 20 to 30 percent fewer points than the old chart rates, while peak dates at high-demand locations may cost up to 40 percent more. Members can see exact point costs for any date on the Marriott app and website.

Marriott says the change will make more rooms available for point redemptions overall, as properties can now adjust award availability dynamically rather than restricting inventory at fixed rates. Loyalty program analysts recommend booking off-peak dates for the best value.
