Southwest Airlines has stunned the travel industry by announcing transatlantic service with introductory fares starting at just $49 one-way to London and Paris from select US cities.

The Catch
Promotional fares are for the first 100,000 seats only and require 14-day advance purchase. Regular fares will be $199-$399 each way — still significantly cheaper than legacy carriers. No baggage fees, as per Southwest policy.
