Royal Caribbean has officially announced Icon of the Seas 2, the successor to the world's largest cruise ship, set to launch in late 2027 with even more ambitious features and a staggering 10,000-passenger capacity.

Itineraries and Pricing

Icon of the Seas 2 will homeport in Miami and offer 7-night Caribbean itineraries visiting Royal Caribbean's private island Perfect Day at CocoCay, along with stops in Cozumel, Jamaica, and the Bahamas.

Introductory pricing starts at ,199 per person for an interior cabin on a 7-night sailing. Suites and premium staterooms range from ,500 to 5,000 per person. Early booking opens to Crown and Anchor loyalty members on May 1, 2026, with general sales beginning June 1.

Environmental Commitments

Royal Caribbean says the new ship will be powered by liquefied natural gas and incorporate advanced wastewater treatment systems. The company has pledged to achieve net-zero emissions by 2035 across its entire fleet.

The announcement comes as the cruise industry continues its post-pandemic resurgence, with global passenger numbers expected to exceed 35 million in 2026.
